“My Matlacha Courtyard” received the 2024 Island Odyssey Award by the Alliance for the Arts and the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau of Lee County, Florida.

My three-minute film documents a glimpse of the amazing sights and sounds of life on the Matlacha Preserve in Matlacha as I experienced
it during my time as a resident of this wonderful community.

We can not replicate memories but we can remember and cherish their beauty.

Previous Events and Happenings

The North American Invitational Model United Nations (NAIMUN) is one of the oldest UN simulations for high school students in North America and the world. Since 1963, this conference has been a forum for a dynamic range of young students gathering from around the world to seek solutions to the various problems of the world through discussion, negotiation, and debate. I had the privilege of addressing students at the conference held in Washington, DC in February 2024.

American Tumbleweeds 2016 Press Tour

My husband’s final gift to me was a book tour. As soon as I signed a contract with publisher Circling Rivers for distribution of my novel, Michael spent hours on the phone scheduling readings and book signings with independent bookstores and conglomerates. I chronicled our northeast and southwest book tour with short videos, starting with the book release held in Fort Myers, FL.

Our press tour included radio interviews with 100.7 WHUD in Peekskill, NY, and 103.9 KGRT in Las Cruces, NM
